Trust the process of childhood.
There’s a few ways you can interpret this. It should always lead you to a Yes to Joy, peace and connection.
For me this is about getting out of the way. Recognising where I have a desire to control my child’s behaviour or development and doing the inner work to clear that.
Trusting the process of childhood means controlling the environment and not the child. Creating an environment within which my child thrives according to who they are not who I want them to be.
Trusting the process of childhood means looking at the unique child in front of me and saying Yes to who they are in this moment. Yes to how they choose to spend their time and energy. Yes to their emotions and however they happen to be pouring out.
Trusting the process of childhood remembers that the human brain takes 25-30 years to fully develop and who my child is at 5 months, 5 years, 15 years or even 25 is still a work in progress.
The more you trust them the more they can teach you.
