No matter what people tell you, words and ideas can change the world

A while ago I had a conversation with a gym member who I see most days. He was asking me about Yes Parenting. He asked how I managed to stick to my guns despite the response from the media and those that comment on the media. I said it was because I believe in Yes Parenting, my children demonstrate the effects of Yes Parenting and my clients rave about Yes Parenting.

At Christmas we’re often surrounded by well-meaning family members who parent differently to us.  They may well have questions and responses that leave you feeling a little wobble.

I want to offer you some encouragement if this has been your experience during the last week or so.

When someone, well meaning, questions your parenting because you’re choosing Yes instead of the conventional response; remember Robin Williams.

“No matter what people tell you, words and ideas can change the world.”

You are doing an amazing job. Your relationship with your child is more important than your relationships with anyone else.

It’s Ok to choose a different way to the one you grew up with.

It’s OK to disagree with those who are close to you.

It’s Ok to carve your own path and stand firm upon it.
